Recipe Ingredients

1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 egg
1 cup Smart Balance® Fat Free Milk and Omega-3s
1 tbsp Smart Balance® Cooking Oil

Sautéed Apples
2 tbsp Smart Balance® Original Buttery Spread
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
4 cups peeled and chopped apples

Recipe Steps

Combine both flours, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a mixing bowl. Beat egg in a separate bowl. Add milk and oil to egg and stir to mix. Pour mixture into dry ingredients and whisk until smooth.

Preheat a nonstick griddle or skillet over medium to medium-low heat.

Meanwhile, prepare apples. Melt Smart Balance® Buttery Spread in a skillet over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar and cinnamon. Add apples and stir to combine.

When griddle is hot, pour 1/4-cup portions of batter onto griddle surface. Cook until bubbles form on top, and bottom is browned.

Flip pancakes and cook until browned on other side. Serve pancakes topped with sautéed apples.
