Pepper, oil, garlic, and a little help from the folks at Smart Balance—that’s all it takes to make this snappy starter.

This recipe was originally created as part of our Spring For Flavor recipe feature.

Recipe Ingredients

1 tbsp Smart Balance® Light Butter and Canola Oil Blend
2 cloves garlic, sliced thin
1 1/2 lb fresh sugar snap peas
1 1/2 tsp kosher salt
3/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper

Recipe Steps

Remove and discard the stem end and string from each sugar snap pod.

Melt the butter in a large sauté pan over medium-high heat.

Add the garlic and sauté until just about golden, about 30 seconds.

Then add sugar snap peas, salt and pepper and sauté, tossing occasionally for 3 to 5 minutes, until the sugar snap peas are tender crisp.
