A lightened up version that won't weigh you down!
1/2 cup sugar
4 Smart Balance Omega-3 Egg yolks
2 cups Smart Balance Low Fat Milk
¼ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp nutmeg
¼ tsp cloves
1 tsp vanilla
2 oz rum, brandy or whiskey (optional)
10 minutes

In a medium saucepan, add the sugar and egg yolks. Whisk over medium low heat until the sugar is melted and the mixture is glossy and pale yellow. |

Whisk in the milk, and then add the cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. Continue stirring over medium heat just until the edges begin to bubble. Do not boil. |

Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla. |

Chill in the refrigerator completely, and then add the alcohol, if using. Serve with additional cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves sprinkled on top, if desired. |
